LUSH got me Gorgeous!

With Canadian weather being so unpredictable, where one day is beaches and bikini and the next day is goose jackets, igloos and windy (did I do a rhyme?), I find that my skin takes quite a hit, especially because it’s already naturally dry, or at least cold Canadian weathers got me believing it so. Fortunately, I was introduced to Lush Cosmetics. I received a gift card for my birthday and bought the Hello Gorgeous wrapped gift set with the said six products for all-over fabulousness.

1. Rub Rub Rub – Body Scrub

Ok owlets, this body scrub got me like…

I can honestly say I haven’t tried a scrub that I liked as much as this one. Because I have scaly dry skin, even after I moisturize after showering, this scrub did a phenomenal job actually exfoliating my disgusting dead skin and buffed it ever so gently, which with other scrubs I haven’t been so successful. It’s the sea salt that’s buffed away the dead skin and the illipe and cupuaçu butters that make you feel soft and moisturized. The feel and smell of this product is so beautiful, so beautiful I felt like eating it – that’s weird, but I feel that way about every bar and soap I see displayed at Lush, looks like candy and smells so damn good! The smell of this scrub comes from the jasmine, mimosa, and orange blended in the product (can you see why I felt like eating it). After one use, I saw the difference with this scrub, my body is summer ready!

2. The Comforter – Shower Cream

This pink bottle of body love nectar has got me dancing and singing in the shower. After using the scrub, I lathered up some of this shower cream which added additional softness that came from the vitamin-rich almond oil. The vibrant, pretty, pink colour and slight shimmer makes it visually appealing as well. The smell is a combination of sweet cassis and creamy vanilla absolutes that creates the blackcurrant (ribes nigrum) aroma, this is the featured ingredient in this cream – which at first smelled very medicinal but that’s because this berry is known to be used for medicinal purposes and has many health benefits– however, I could already feel my skin praising hallelujah because of how soft and comforted it felt.

3. Ro’s Argan – Body Conditioner

Have you ever rubbed the petal of a rose? I think most of us have, and can we agree it’s so soft? Well, if my body already couldn’t handle more softness, after the scrub and shower cream, I ended it with the conditioner. And let me just tell you, this is the holy grail of buttery-softness!  I don’t think I can go on without using this every time now. After massaging it all over, rinsing it off and then patting myself dry, this amazing conditioner left my skin rose-petal soft, deeply moisturizing without the greasy aftermath. I could instantly feel the difference all due to the luxurious mix of ingredients: cocoa, shea and cupuacu butters along with brazil nut, almond and argan oils. The fruity rose-scented smell was just so delightfully yummy and pretty. All-in-all, my body is happy and grateful for the combo I used in the shower and my rose-scented skin is as soft as a baby’s butt!

4. Gorgeous – Facial Moisturizer

I have been using the same moisturizer since I started using a moisturizer, so that means I’ve been using the same one for a very, very long time. I had never thought of getting out of my comfort zone and trying something thing different, but recently I’ve been up for change and open to exploring new products that could keep my skin soft, radiant and young. This moisturizer is another hit in this gift set and it’s got my skin glowing like the sun. It’s got a blend of soothing ingredients like orange blossom honey, extra virgin olive and wheatgerm oils which leaves the skin feeling smooth and gives the matte finish so your face doesn’t look greasy. It’s gentle and perfect for every skin type, it gives a fresh feel as well. My face is ready for the bipolar weather Canada has to offer.

5. The Comforter – Bubble Bar

I don’t usually take baths, but hey these products shouldn’t go to waste! I filled up my big tub with water and started crumbling the bar under the running tap. The smell of the bar was so lovely, so fruity with a dash of candy – delicious! The water turned to a pretty pink and had fluffy bubbles, once I submerged myself, I couldn’t help but to have a relaxing sigh of relief, the water felt silky and creamy making my skin feel instantly moisturized. My favourite part, the bubbles! I felt like I was a kid again making bubble sculptures, if you feel like being in a big tub of water can get boring, get a bubble bar and start playing with the bubbles. The featured ingredient in this bar is Bergamot oil (Citrus bergamia), which is very refreshing and has very relaxing properties. Its fresh and light fragrance makes it a natural anti-depressant.

6. Sakura – Bath Bomb

Lastly, the Sakura bath bomb – for anyone that knows me, knows I love anything Japanese related and so this bath bomb is Japanese cherry blossom inspired. Much like the Rub Rub Rub body scrub, this bath bomb also has jasmine and mimosa scents. According to Lush, “the elegant embrace of fine sea salt and softening baking soda softens skin and carries your troubles away like cherry blossoms on the breeze.” Which in fact, I believe is a very accurate description. It made my skin feel amazing, just like all of the products listed above, especially because my skin needs all the TLC it can get. Of course, the scent was scrumptious and watching the bath bomb dissolve is always fun.

So, there you have it owlets! Overall, all these products have done a miracle on my skin just after one use. I’ve recently been receiving compliments on its radiance, softness and clarity. I can’t speak for everyone else, but they’ve worked for me. How about you guys try and comment what worked for you and if you’ve tried any of these yourself. Would you agree or disagree?
